This September I will be traveling to Iraq for one month to document the untold epidemic of cardiovascular disease amongst the Iraqi children, in hopes to shed light on this injustice and to stir hearts to action. During my time in this war-torn country I will be living with and photographing the afflicted children and the organization that is desperately trying to gain resources for life-saving heart surgeries: Buy Shoes. Save Lives.

The end result of this documentary will be the compilation of my photographs into a book that will be used to raise awareness and funds for these afflicted children. If you’d like to learn more about this non-profit and how they help the Iraqi children please visit www.buyshoessavelives.com. Undertaking such an endeavor has driven me to reevaluate my spiritual condition and to prepare myself emotionally and mentally for the task ahead. I have also been gravitating from a position of self-dependency to complete reliance on God, that He would provide what is necessary to see this documentary through to fruition. Right now as it stands I have to raise $1,000 for a visa, passport, vaccinations and proper international documentation; $2,500 for the required camera equipment and gear; and $500 for food and supplies while in Iraq. This brings the necessary amount of funds I need to raise to $4,000.

My original plan was to ask for donations, but after much prayer and council, I’ve decided to instead raise the money through my talents, the same talents I’ll be using to capture this documentary in Iraq. The reason for this is two-fold: not only will I be honing my skills behind the lens to properly photograph the Buy Shoes. Save Lives operation, but I’ll be actively involved in using these same skills to earn the funds for this expedition.

This is where you come in. I need my family, friends and loved ones to keep their ears to the ground about any photographic needs they know of. I am willing to do anything from headshots, weddings and special occasions, to print advertising, photo journalism and fashion photography. If you know of anyone who could use my abilities, please direct them to my portfolio at www.fosteraddington.com.

"But according to Mr. Hands, the company was doing worse than commonly thought.
